Heidi Gill

Tasmanian born Heidi strums and plucks her guitar and sings mostly quirky humourous folk-pop (with jazzy and funkier, and more serious moments). She has a sweet voice and a dry satirical style, with songs that range in content from laments on the lack of available men in small towns to mean landlords in tight rental markets. She has been gigging in Canberra for the last 11 years at cafes, markets, pubs and clubs. Punters describe her as fine crafter of songs and extremely honest in her writing and deliverance.

 

Heidi has recorded a number of EPs and her songs have been featured on three compilations, played on ABC radio, and community radio all over Australia. One of her songs received a top-twenty placing in the Australian Songwriter’s Association songwriting competition.
